ASIS International Foundation Scholarship

The Tampa Chapter is currently seeking nominations for three (3) scholarships currently offered by the ASIS Foundation. There is no limit to the number of members who may apply from each chapter and Tampa is widely recognized for having a very diverse and distinguished group of security service members.

Webster Scholarship

The application period for the Webster scholarships open on February 4 and will be open for three months.  Last year we had just one applicant so one opportunity went unused.

Much like this scholarship, the Transitions Council has established a certification scholarship for ASIS members working in law enforcement this year.  It is a great way to recruit new members or to encourage LE members to seek certification before they transition to the private sector.

The Charles H. “Sandy” Davidson IV Memorial Scholarship

Open now through April 4, 2016. Webster University will award two (2) full-tuition scholarships to ASIS members in honor of Charles H. "Sandy" Davidson IV, ASIS Foundation Director of Research and Development (1985-2001). Each scholarship will allow a prospective student the opportunity to complete a graduate degree in Business and Organizational Security Man-agement. Recipients may choose to attend a Webster University on-ground campus, Webster University online, or a combi-nation of the two.

To be eligible an applicant must be an ASIS member in good standing for no less than two years, meet all admission require-ments for the University, and maintain good standing throughout the term of their scholarship. Awardees must complete the 36 hours needed for the degree within two years and maintain a 3.0 GPA during course of study. The scholarship is open to all ASIS members worldwide.

ASIS/Military Liaison Council Certification Scholarship

This scholarship is not open formally until May 9, 2016 and will close on July 1, 2016; however, the Chapter Board is seeking qualified applicants today to assist with the requirements.

The ASIS Foundation/Military Liaison Council (MLC) Certification Scholarship was established to provide an opportunity for ASIS members who actively serve in military service to pursue ASIS board certification. Scholarships cover the expenses of application, preparation (online review), and testing for the CPP, PCI, or PSP credential.

Those eligible for this award must be active duty military assigned to the armed forces of any nation, be an ASIS member in good standing and meet the professional and educational requirements of the ASIS board certification for which they seek to achieve.
